Auxiliary Runs House Fire on Alderwood Lane in Company 43's Area

ALD09 - Engine 431

At about 5:23 PM on May 23 units were alerted to respond to a house fire in the 16300 block of Alderwood Lane in Company 43's area. Engine 431 was the first arriving unit and reported a working fire on the second story of a single-family home. Engines 843 (Bowie-Mitchellville), 846 (Kentland), 818 (Glenn Dale), 839 (Bowie-Belair); Trucks 820 (Marlboro) and 805 (Capitol Heights); and Rescue Squad 833 (Kentland) responded. After the working fire dispatch was issued Auxiliary members proceeded with Canteens 19 (Amyx) and 39 (Locker and Cole), arriving on the scene at about 5:55 PM. It was a hot afternoon, and about two cases of water were distributed to crews operating on Alderwood Lane. Both units returned to quarters at about 6:45 PM.
