Bowie Units Run Working House Fire in Company 39's Area

At 7:56 PM on May 26 a house fire was reported in the 2600 block of Kresson Place in Company 39's area. The first arriving unit reported light smoke showing from a two-story single family home and asked for the working fire dispatch, bringing Engines 839 (Bowie-Belair), 839B, 819 (Bowie-Huntington), and AA7 (Arundel); Tower 843 (Bowie-Mitchellville); Truck 820 (Marlboro) and Truck 828 (West Lanham Hills) to the scene. Chief 19 (Havens) was in command of the fireground, and Chiefs 39A (Turner) and 43B (Howard) commanded crews working in the house. Firefighters quickly extinguished the fire and Engines 819, 839, and 839B and Tower 843 were held in service for overhaul and clean-up. Canteen 839 (Locker and Cole) also responded to the call. An engine company from West Lanham Hills (Company 28) and a tower crew from Kentland (Company 33) were sent to Station 39 on a transfer.
