At 1723 on May 23, 2009, a box alarm was struck for a fire on the second floor of a single family home in the 16300 block of Alderwood Lane.

At approximately 1900 on Saturday, January 3, 2009, units were dispatched to a large mulch fire in the 700 block of Crain Highway in Upper Marlboro in Company 43's first due.

On 8/11/09 at 1720, Engine 392 was dispatched to the 2700 block of Felter Lane for a report of an outside fire. Upon arrival the officer on E392 (Volunteer Captain Blanton) notified PCS to fill the assignment, reporting an outside fire that extended to the house.

On February 26, 2009, a CSX locomotive and 13 hopper cars full of coal derailed off of Briercrest Court in Bowie at approximately 2200.
